RWM Letsrecycle Live 2022 Review

By Paul Fears | 20 September 2022

This was the first year that the UK’s two recycling shows combined to stage RWM Letsrecycle Live 2022 at the NEC in Birmingham UK.  The exhibition featured an outer live exhibition area, showing larger recycling equipment, and an internal area with companies across the recycling spectrum.

The two-day exhibition welcomed both UK and international exhibitors and visitors.  Exhibitors stretched from recycling plant builders to suppliers of specialist safety gear.

Live Metal Separation Demonstrations

On the Bunting stand, demonstrations on the production-size Metal Separation Module (featuring a Drum Magnet and Eddy Current Separator) and the SSSC Stainless Steel Magnetic Separator constantly drew the crowds.

“As a recycling equipment supplier it is important to show the visitors operating equipment,” explained Tom Higginbottom, Bunting’s Northern UK Sales Engineer. “As soon as material started moving along the vibratory feeders [feeding material onto the magnetic separators] people would gather around to see what was happening.  The demonstrations sparked many conversations that turned into serious enquiries.”

On the stand, Bunting demonstrated the separation of ferrous and non-ferrous metal from shredded PET bottles on the Metal Separation Module, and fragmented stainless steel from shredded uPVC windows on the SSSC Stainless Steel Magnetic Separator.

“With visitors on the stand it was possible to illustrate the weakly magnetic nature of fragmented stainless steel and then demonstrate the ultra-strong SSSC separating the metal from the uPVC,” said Joe Cetti, Bunting’s Southern UK Sales Engineer.  “Seeing is believing.  Explaining to people via telephone or email is not the same as showing the separation actually taking place in front of their eyes.”

RWM Letsrecycle Live 2022 gave the Bunting team the opportunity to catch-up with existing customers and open discussions with potentially new clients.  Post-show actions include conducting material tests at Bunting’s state-of-the-art Customer Experience Centre in Redditch, UK and site visits.

“We are looking forward to catching-up with everyone who took the time to visit us,” said Tom Higginbottom.
