Demonstrations Attract Visitors at RWM18

When visitors entered the main hall at this year’s RWM Exhibition, their attention was immediately drawn to Metal Separation equipment operating on the Master Magnets and Bunting Magnetics Europe stand. The stand was the largest exhibiting Magnetic Separators and Eddy Current Separators at the show.
“With our stand being in prime position as visitors entered the show, it was important to capture their attention and ignite their curiosity with action and noise,” said Jonathan Millington, Master Magnet’s Marketing Manager.
Two production-sized metal separation systems were operating on the stand:
- Stainless Steel Magnetic Separator, model SSSC, which was separating large fist-sized fragmented stainless steel;
- Eddy Current Separator separating non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper and zinc from non-metallic materials like plastic;
A small Permanent Overband Magnet was also on display.
“This year, our stand was far busier than in 2017 and people came to discuss specific metal separation projects,” explained Jonathan. “Being able to discuss the best method of metal separation whilst providing a demonstration was really important.”
Following RWM, many visitors will be visiting or sending samples of material for testing to the Metal Separation Test Centre at Redditch near Birmingham.
“Over the two days we discussed a wide range of metal separation projects. These included removing metal [ferrous, non-ferrous and stainless steel] from reclaimed plastic waste and recovering stainless steel in frag plants.”
Since Master Magnets was acquired by Bunting Magnetics in January 2017, the company’s presence at major trade shows across Europe has increased significantly.
“This is a very exciting time for Bunting and Master Magnets,” explained Dave Hills, the group’s Head of Sales. “New technology such as the Stainless Steel Magnetic Separator has increased awareness of our equipment and we have never been busier with enquiries and orders. Being at the front of the RWM show emphasises our commitment to the recycling and waste sector and we will be back, in the same stand, in 2019.”
