Bunting distributors from across Europe converged on the Redditch site for the inaugural European Sales Conference. The two-day event included classroom and practical training on a wide range of magnetic separators and metal detectors.

On day 1, there was a focus on equipment for the recycling sector. This included permanent and electromagnetic Overband Magnets, Pulley Magnets, Drum Magnets and Metal Detectors. The recycling-theme continued on day 2 with Eddy Current Separators, Stainless Steel Separators and a review of battery recycling technology. This was followed by a review of high intensity magnetic separators used in the mineral processing and ceramics industries.

Practical training took place on both afternoons, with demonstrations in both the Recycling Test Facility and Mineral Processing Test Laboratory. Delegates also witnessed controlled mineral separation tests on a recently manufactured Magnetic Disc Separator.

“The conference provided the ideal opportunity to share some of the knowledge of our technical sales team, many who have worked in the mineral processing and recycling industries for decades,” explained Adrian Coleman, the General Manager of Bunting-Redditch. “If our distributors have a better understanding of equipment such as the Eddy Current Separator or Rare Earth Roll Separator, they will be able to provide improved support and assistance to our clients.”

The mineral processing technical team at Bunting-Redditch is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable in the world. Additionally, the Redditch laboratory has one of the most extensive collections of high intensity magnetic separation equipment.

Recycling continues to hit the headlines and the delegates witnessed the separation capabilities of some of the world’s most advanced metal separators such as the patented Stainless Steel Magnetic Separators.

“The two-day conference has proved to be an over-riding success,” said Adrian. “We have only scratched the surface of our capabilities, but this is the start of an ongoing programme of training for both our internal and external team.”
